This piece was written for my senior Composition Recital at SMU in 1992. I wrote the piece over a weekend. The idea and some of the melodies came to me while I was in church (not listening to the sermon). Me and my BFF were frantically copying out all the parts (days before we all used computers) and didn't quite finish the Bassoon parts in time for the quick rehearsal just before the concert. (I had another 70 minutes of music also before performed and premiered that night - so I was very busy indeed). The piece has only been performed that one time and has been in my files for almost 30 years. It's nice to give it life once again.
